Inglis to lead Australia in ODI series against Pakistan after Marsh ankle jury

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Josh Inglis has replaced injured Mitchell Marsh as Australian captain for a series of three one-day internationals in Pakistan, Cricket Australia said Tuesday.

Marsh injured his ankle while playing in the Indian Premier League and has returned to Australia after missing Lucknow Super Giants’ last game. He will undergo further assessment and treatment in Perth.

Australia’s regular 50-over skipper Pat Cummins and vice-captain Travis Head are already absent from the ODI series, beginning in Rawalpindi on Saturday, because of IPL commitments.

Lahore will host the remaining two ODIs on June 2 and 4.

Wicketkeeper-batter Inglis led Australia in November 2024, also against Pakistan, when many first-choice players were absent.

Australia will go on a white-ball tour of Bangladesh after playing in Pakistan. Pace spearheads Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will miss both tours.

Australian court bans man from contacting Norwegian princess studying in Sydney

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — A 63-year-old man was banned on Wednesday from contacting Norway's Princess Ingrid Alexander or her family for two years as she studies at a university in Australia. David James Cook appeared in court where he was issued with a two-year Apprehended Violence Order that prevents him from entering the Sydney University campus, searching the 22-year-old royal online or contacting her or her family. Such orders are intended to prevent an individual from subjecting another person to acts of violence, intimidation or harassment. Cook told reporters as he left the Newtown Court House, in Sydney, that the order stemmed from a card he sent to Ingrid, who is second in line to the Norwegian throne.
